How Can Art Help You Achieve Your Deepest Desire?
What is it that you Really Want? What is Your Deepest Desire?
Do you know? If you know, do you know how to achieve it?
I know a way. And I am happy to share.
It turns out that when I wrote my thesis 42 years ago, I did not realize just how literal the concept of ‘we create our own reality by what we think about” and visualize, was.
Today, science, in the ‘person’ of Physics, is reporting the theory that consciousness actually creates matter.
With this in mind, I highly endorse my naive little thesis from the last century as an intuitive hunch now validated.
As I am a teacher and a Libra, I am driven to prove a hypothesis, so, research is undertaken to persuade. I will start with the simplest studies I used to support my thesis:
I proposed that through Visualization the world will arrange itself into the image you create, and you can achieve this with intention or it will happen randomly.
I cited 2 medical studies which highlighted the way prolonged negative emotional states impact the body’s chemistry (physical matter), and lead to a range of illnesses; and conversely, how deliberately focused visualizations can reverse physical illnesses by changing matter through meditation. I’ll save those details and do an exclusive post on those studies.
The first study was done by Yale, the second study was done by Boston Children’s Hospital.
One must change brainwave patterns to make the brain work at the highest, most optimal level, and that means quieting it down.
A quiet brain is an effective brain.
The brain works most efficiently when it can block out extraneous ‘noise’. When someone is absorbed by the book they are reading or the movie they are watching, and they don’t react to calling their name, they are in that Zone.
That is the Zone we want to get in at will to transform our lives.
Meditation is an entry point to this kind of absorption into the process. So is making art. Why is that?
With Art, it has to do with the repetition and rhythm of coloring or brush stroking back and forth that leads to self hypnosis that then starts slowing brainwaves.
We innately know this as a species. We use rocking chairs to relax, we rock babies to calm them, we chant mantras when we meditate, we pray the rosary and drone on until the chant takes over.
Rocking is rhythmic and repetitive and so is coloring. It can result in the same self hypnosis. The next step is to make what you are coloring connect to your ultimate desire.
On the simplest level, you will find creative solutions to get closer to your goal and you will discover things you can do to make it real.
On the highest, most theoretical of quantum physics levels, your consciousness is creating the matter of your deepest desire. I run across scientific articles on this topic all the time. It’s certainly Magic, even if there is a scientific explanation.
You can create a simple process or you can create a very sacred, spiritual practice that is designed to manifest your wishes. The operative feature is keeping the visualization in the forefront of your mind. Making, displaying, and/or wearing a symbol of your desire is part of the process.
The image at the top of this post is a page from the coloring book I wrote/drew,
"Art is Powerful Medicine Coloring Book"
This image is focused on the specific goal of maintaining sobriety.
The Brain will focus on the message subliminally, while the subject keeps coloring, supporting the intention, strengthening it, experiencing the simplest benefit of this process.
Next post will give more details, supporting research, and voices from the past who knew this and told us so.
