Act As If, or Make Tracks in Your Mind

‘Act As If', or, ‘Make Tracks in Your Mind’

If Consciousness creates the Matter that is your material Reality, then why not experiment with it and learn how to harness it?

How does one design a reliable experiment? Let’s see…This experiment would have to be a Case Study Design, since it is specific to a single subject. Find subjects who have anecdotal evidence and/or recruit subjects to participate. The ticket is to replicate the experiment & get the results the hypothesis is designed for, over and over.

I ran across an interesting documentary/book several years ago called:“What the Bleep Do We Know”. From start to finish and cover to cover, it features many scientists, medical doctors, and philosophers, postulating on this theory of Consciousness as Creator. One of the thought leaders of this documentary offered a way to experiment with ‘The Observer’, as he refers to the consciousness phenomenon.

He says to ask the ‘Observer’ to send him a signal in such a way that he will know it came from ‘them’.                                                                                     So I tried it. I asked for the sign.

I was driving in town one morning, before I headed off to work. As I approached a stop sign at the Green in the center of town, I pulled up close enough to the car in front of me that I could read the small bumper sticker on the back bumper.

It said ‘Got Kale?’.

For some reason, it stuck in my head, maybe because it was so small I was surprised I didn’t miss it. Anyway, I went to work where my first responsibility of the day was to have lunch with my group of adult women before I took them to art therapy.                                                                                                        Naturally, what was on the lunch menu?

A gigantic pile of Kale.

Since then, I have recognized how many times this happens whether I am directing things or not. A random thought crosses my mind, its answer shows up in an equally random way. When I wonder about something deliberately, a person or a question about history for example, and the answer shows up in my news feed.

And I recognize the Observer when it shows up in other places as well, and it reminds me of a line from the New Testament, paraphrasing, ‘Some will have ears to hear and eyes to see…’

For me, a storyline in a movie is an example. In the film, ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’, there are several lessons that teaches us about the magic inside our minds. At one point, Frances, our heroine, is scared and sad and all that emotion comes out as she declares she wishes there was someone to cook for in this big empty house she just impulsively bought. She wishes there was a wedding in this house and a family in this house. Organically, her wishes began to manifest.      Her renovation crew became the guests she cooked for at her table, her friend came to stay and had her baby in her house, and her neighbor got married to one of her workmen in her house.

The lesson here is that you will get what you ask for, just maybe not the way you expected but exactly the way you needed it.

Barrie Dolnick wrote a book called Simple Spells for Success, and in it she describes how she found the apartment she needed in NYC. She put out the energy to find a place for a specific amount of money and she wanted to be ‘surrounded by Beauty’. After an exhaustive search with a real estate agent, she finally found an apartment in the price range and area she hoped for, and when she looked out the window, there was a marquee for a hairdressing school, and in big letters it said “BEAUTY SCHOOL”.

I have found myself drifting into one of these daydreams of a future desired goal. Traveling back to Europe has been on my mind lately, Back to Italy to see family again and new places, with my daughter and friends I would like to travel with; and to France, Paris and Provence, where I have wanted to travel for decades.

France has been the primary focus presently for me, so I’m researching VRBOs, Towns, neighborhoods, customs, and clothing. I would like to blend in, not stick out. I found myself pulling out items of clothing, creating a kind of a capsule wardrobe ‘as if’ the trip were already planned. I will keep you posted!

I challenge anyone who reads this post to give the Observer experiment a try. Just ask to be shown something in such a way that you will know, without a doubt, that it came from the Observer.

By the way, YOU are the Observer as well.                                                               I know, mind blowing.

Today, there is social and physical science behind this concept.
