Consciousness & Reality...

When I wrote my thesis 43 years ago, the concept of visualization and meditation effecting matter was just being explored. Now, I see article after article about Consciousness and Matter, Consciousness and Physical Reality coming from the realm of Quantum and Theoretical Physics. These scientists are discussing the novel concept that Consciousness Creates Matter.
My thesis was titled: Visualization, How it Works & How You Can Use It To Achieve Real and Desired Goals in Your Life.
The Mantra of my Art Therapy Groups was: "Whatever You Think About Most, You Make Happen"
I was young when I wrote my thesis and I was not a science or math geek. I was a philosophy, history, and humanities geek. I wondered about existential things. So on the first weekend I was in grad school, when this tiny/1 weekend/1 credit course, The Study of the Mystic, was offered, I signed up. A selection of books by esoteric authors were displayed and that is where I discovered the book that would change my perception of life after death, The Education of Oversoul 7, by Jane Roberts. But let me give you a little background story first:
I was raised a traditional Catholic, although I was not connected to the faith. I felt more like an observer of an alien culture's customs. I went to a Catholic elementary school and we had religion classes every day. I enjoyed religion class because they were filled with fascinating stories of people in ancient times. I always wondered what it must feel like to believe in a religion so completely, like my grandmothers did.
One day, when I was in the 5th grade, Sister Rosalette, (the scariest) was conducting religion class and explaining who gets to go to heaven. She just sounded like the muted trumpet, adult voice in the Charlie Brown cartoon specials. I decided to ask a hard question. I asked Sr. Rosalette "where would I go after death if I was a tribesman from a place in Africa where no Christian missionary ever went; and I was a good man who followed all of his tribe's rules, raised a big family, and was loved and respected. Where do I go when I die?" Sr. Rosalette said I would go to a 'lower level' of heaven because I didn't know Christianity. I thanked her and sat down, knowing that if Jesus himself was in the classroom he would have told her how mistaken she was. So by age 10ish, I was searching for meaning on a spiritual level.
Back to the Study of the Mystic. We were taught how to meditate, and we practiced in pairs. The story I am about to tell you is true, it actually happened to me, and I still have to remind myself that it really happened.
My partner Missy and I were in a small room by ourselves. We closed the curtains to make it darker. While one was lying down and meditating and describing what they saw, the other was taking notes of their observations. It was my first time meditating so I did not have any expectations. It was like watching a big movie 'screen' and I saw a hand/arm coming in from the right of the screen, reaching across toward the other side. While I was describing this, I lifted my right arm to show Missy what the it looked like. Then I saw another hand/arm coming in from the left side of the 'screen', reaching for the first hand. Very much like the Sistine Chapel scene where God is reaching out to animate Adam.
I did not raise my left arm to demonstrate that, however, and left it at my side. The hands met in the middle and twined their fingers together. A ball of light appeared in the space between their hands. I described it as it was happening to Missy, and when the hands came together, I squeezed my real fingers against the 'fingers' of my visualization, and to my surprise, I felt another hand against mine.
The image I was holding dissipated and I sat up. My partner was staring at me, mouth agape. "What?!", I urgently wanted to know. 'I saw the other hand!", Missy blurted. I believed her because I felt the other hand. I chalked it up to being young, my energy, and manifesting a hologram. It did make an impression, and as Shakespeare said, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your Philosophy."
I was always open minded, and now there was no way to ever close my wondering mind again. I found myself at the beginning of a drive to understand the Nature of Reality.
The Book I mentioned earlier, The Education of Oversoul 7, resonated with me in the same way I imagine my grandmother's faith resonated with them.
So, this is how it began. New information leads to more information, curiosity leads to more links, and ideas form...and now, today, science is explaining my experience.
I am figuring out ways to use this new information to make desirable things happen in my life, and I will share.
